Description: This is a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication compared to a placebo to prevent cardiovascular events. Study procedures and tests will include vital signs, physical measurements, laboratory tests, and electrocardiograms (ECGs). Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following a two-part screening process, with lipoprotein testing as the first step leading to potential eligibility for the main study. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost.  Participants who qualify may receive reasonable reimbursement for parking and travel.
