Geo: US Only Traffic: Native/Social/Search/Email Patient Profile / Filters: Gender: Any Ages: 40+ Study Description: The purpose of this clinical study is to see whether an investigational injectable medication can help to treat osteoarthritis of the knee. You may be asked to attend a screening visit to determine if you are eligible to enroll in the study. If enrolled, you will be randomly selected to receive one knee injection of either a placebo or the medication being tested in this study. Your participation will last approximately two years and you will be asked to attend a total of 11 doctor’s visits and complete a monthly follow-up phone call throughout the study. Once you have completed the main requirements for the study, you will also be asked to complete an annual cancer questionnaire or enroll in a separate long-term safety follow-up study for a total of 15 years. You will also complete various diagnostic and laboratory tests during these visits including MRIs. Participants will receive the study medication at no cost and may be compensated for time and travel. The doctor’s office conducting the study will be able to provide you with more information about the study requirements. Qualifications: - Cannot be taking any prescription pain medications to treat your osteoarthritis - Cannot have Crohn's, Ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid, psoriatic or infectious arthritis, fibromyalgia, or gout - Cannot have an active Hepatitis B or C infection - Cannot have had a medication injected into the affected knee in the last 2 months ] - Cannot have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 5 years (Melanomas are exclusionary unless fully treated and without evidence of recurrence in the past 5 years. Other skin cancers are allowed.) - Affected knee cannot have been injured otherwise in the past 12 months - Cannot have previously undergone a cartilage transplantation procedure
