Study Description:
The purpose of this clinical study is to see how effective an investigational oral medication is at helping to treat active skin disease associated with lupus. You may be asked to attend a screening visit to determine if you are eligible to enroll in the study. If enrolled, you will receive either the medication being tested in this study or a placebo to be taken once a day for 12 weeks. Whether you receive the medication being tested or placebo will be decided randomly; you will have a 2 out of 3 chance of getting the study medication, however neither you nor your study doctor will know which you are given. Your total participation will last approximately 5 months and you will be asked to attend 10 clinic visits. During these visits, you will complete various diagnostic and laboratory tests. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost and participants who qualify may be compensated for time and travel.

Qualifications:
- Cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant
- Must be diagnosed with lupus
- Cannot have drug-induced lupus
- Cannot have a current diagnosis of psoriasis
