Study Description:
This study is testing an investigational injectable medication for cirrhosis due to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), also known as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Participants will receive weekly doses of either the study medication or a placebo for up to 4.5 years. Additional procedures may include a liver biopsy, MRIs, FibroScans, upper endoscopies, abdominal ultrasounds and blood collection. Your participation in the study will vary and may last more than 4.5 years. There will be different amounts of time that pass between each visit throughout the study. (example: every 4 weeks or every 6 weeks) Some visits may be conducted remotely if allowed per local regulations. The study team will go over the appointment schedule with you and can answer any questions you may have. Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following one or more in-person screening visits to the clinic. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost. Participants may be reimbursed for any reasonable travel, parking, meals and other expenses associated with the study visits.
Qualification Criteria:
- Must have been told by physician that you may have cirrhosis of the liver
- Cannot have more than 10 alcoholic beverages/week
-Cannot have had weight loss surgery in the past five years
