Study Description: This study is testing the safety and effectiveness of two approved COPD medications to see if they can improve heart and lung health in people with COPD. Participants will receive a twice daily dose of one of the two medications for up to 3 years. Additional procedures include vital signs, physical assessments, and laboratory assessments to determine your eligibility for the study. Total participation will last up to 3 years and would include 3 in-office doctor’s visits, 8 virtual visits, and 1 phone call throughout the study. Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following one or more in-person screening visits to the clinic. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost.
Qualifications/DQs:
- Must be current or former cigarette smoker with a smoking history of 10-pack years
- Should be diagnosed with at least 3 of the following conditions: High Blood Pressure, Type 1 or 2 Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, High cholesterol in the last 12 months, or Obesity (BMI over 30)
