Study Description: This is a clinical research study to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication as an add-on treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). You may be asked to attend an initial screening visit to determine if you’re eligible to enroll in the study. If enrolled, you will be randomly selected to receive injections of either the study medication or a placebo for one year. Total participation will last approximately a year and a half, and you will be required to attend monthly doctor’s visits throughout the study. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost.
Qualifications:
- Must be diagnosed with COPD for one year or longer
- Former smokers ONLY
