Participants will receive a daily dose of either the study medication, placebo, or a standard treatment. Please note, that all participants will receive either the investigational study medication or a standard-of-care treatment at some point during the treatment period. The treatment period will last up to 1 year. Study procedures include physical exams and collection of blood samples. Total study participation is up to 1 year and 3 months with up to 18 doctor’s visits. The study doctor will determine whether patients qualify for the study following one or more in-person screening visits to the clinic. Study-related doctor visits, evaluations, procedures, and study medication will be provided at no cost. Qualifications: - Must already take medication to treat high blood pressure, and BP is still high - Must be taking minimum 3 HBP medications - Cannot have a history of stroke or heart attack in the past 6 months - Cannot have persistent atrial fibrillation
