Study Description:
The purpose of this clinical study is to see whether an investigational injectable medication can help to treat high blood pressure. You may qualify to participate if you have systolic (top number) blood pressure of at least 140 despite taking medication to lower it. You may be asked to attend an initial screening visit to determine if you’re eligible to enroll in the study. If enrolled, you will be randomly selected to receive one dose of either the study medication or a placebo. The study medication will be taken in addition to your currently prescribed blood pressure medications. Total participation can be up to 13.5 months, and you will be required to attend up to 7 doctor’s visits throughout the study. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost. Participants who qualify may be reimbursed for time and travel.
Qualifications:
- Blood pressure must still be high despite taking your medication
- Cannot be on dialysis or have had a kidney transplant
