Participants will take either the investigational medication with an FDA approved medication, or the FDA approved medication alone, daily for on average approximately 2 years. You will be asked to attend a screening visit which may include an ultrasound of your heart if you have not received one within the last year. Total participation will last approximately 3 years and would include attending several doctor’s visits scheduled approximately 1-4 months apart. Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following in-person screening visits to the clinic. You may be compensated upon the completion of all study procedures. Qualifications: - Within the last 6 months, must have been hospitalized or had an urgent visit for worsening symptoms of heart failure - Must currently be on medication to treat your heart failure - Cannot have type I diabetes - Cannot have had heart attack, stroke, mini stroke, heart valve repair or replacement, or pacemaker placement in last 3 months
