Geo: US Only Traffic: Native/Social/Search/Email Ages: 18+ Study Description: The purpose of this study is to test how effective an investigational oral medication is at treating adults with both non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, also known as NASH, and Type 2 diabetes. You may be asked to attend an initial screening visit to determine if you’re eligible to enroll in the study. If enrolled, you will be randomly selected to receive a placebo or the investigational oral medication alone or in combination with Jardiance, an approved diabetic medication for 6 months. Total participation will last approximately 9 months and you will be required to attend 6 doctor’s visits throughout the study. The doctor’s office conducting the study will be able to provide you with more information about the study requirements. Participants who qualify for the study will receive trial-related procedures and study medication at no cost and may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses related to your trial participation, such as meals, travel cost for attending the study visits and/or parking at the hospital, etc. Qualifications: - Must be diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes - Must be diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis or Fatty Liver Disease - Has your diagnosis been confirmed with a liver biopsy, MRI, or Fibroscan? (Answer: YES) - Do you have any of the following medical conditions? Select all that apply. (Answer: Subjects must select 2 or more risk factors to qualify.) A. A large waist or a BMI of 30 or greater B. High levels of triglycerides (lipids in the blood) C. Low levels of HDL cholesterol (the good cholesterol) D. High blood pressure E. None of the above - Do you have a history of any liver conditions other than NASH / fatty liver, such as: (Answer: NO) - Cirrhosis - Alcoholic liver disease - Wilson’s disease - Iron overload (hemochromatosis) - Liver transplant - Hepatitis B or C - Cannot take medication for your Type 2 diabetes Qualifications: - Do you have a bunion that you are considering having surgically treated?
